Hello Lovely Friends,
Last month, I went to the Lenny Kravitz concert. To say that it was an incredible experience is an understatement. It was absolutely amazing! Just to know that Lenny Kravitz exists on this planet brings me joy. He was so very gracious by beginning his concert saying let’s be grateful that we woke up this morning because not everyone in the world did and to thank everyone for choosing to be there.
When I was talking with my business coach about the concert, she said that this the kind of energy I need to bring to telling people about the last spots on my retreats. (The Villa Cosima dates again: May 31–June 7, you can do a private or a double room. So if you want to come with a bestie, we can do that. If you want a private room, we can do that, but you've got to sign up now! The Mystic Writers Retreat is June 26–July 2nd, register here for our info session!)
No one needs to go to see Lenny Kravitz, just like no one needs to go on a Writers Retreat in the South of France, but is it completely life affirming and will change your life, how you feel about yourself and your capabilities? Yes, yes it definitely will.
My friend, Chelsey who came with me to the concert and I were so beyond excited to be there. We danced and screamed and hooted and hollered and literally just had a phenomenal time, and thanked our past selves profusely for making the decision to buy the tickets and get it together and go.
Which brings me to a flashback from March 13, 2000! When I was 19, I was dating a guy whose mother had just moved to Paris. He invited me to come with him and his good friend for Spring Break, which was only like one week away.
The only problem was that my passport was expired, but I really wanted to go.
I mean how often do you get invited to Paris? So I got my s**t together, and got my passport expedited in 48 hours so that I could go. It was an amazing trip. First time going to Galleries Lafayette, last time I was at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Trips tell you who you are. What you're capable of. Are you the type of person who gets shellfish poisoning and throws up in a potted plant while rushing to catch a train from Venice back to Rome? But you still make it. ;-)
Are you the type of person who loves to eat alone or brings a book with you at all times?
Are you the type of person to smile at a stranger?
Are you the one figuring out the maps and where to go and how to get there, or are you the one who is happy that someone else is doing all the figuring?
Trips transform you, change the trajectory of your life. And the trips I've had the opportunity to choose, to say yes to, I've never regretted. This is all to say, this is your invitation to come to the South of France we me and four other phenomenal writers.
Was just talking with a dear friend about how I've still got some spots on my Writers Retreat for the first week of June. Thinking about who could come...
someone who is spontaneous,
someone who loves a good story,
someone who is just waiting for this opportunity to get out of town,
someone who wants to do something adventurous.
This was definitely me when I was 19,
this is definitely still me now,
even though of course it's the more "adult" version because I've done a lot of "adult" things. But maybe the most fun part of being an adult, if there is one, is that I get to choose where to go, what to spend my money on much more often.
